BetaStreets was made to bring more people into the street design process. By combining real-world photos with visual tools, it helps teams and communities explore possibilities, compare options, and collaborate on better streets without technical barriers.
Founded in 2021, BetaStreets began with a simple goal: make street design something anyone can take part in. What started as a visual-first idea has grown into a browser-based platform powered by games-engine technology, built for speed, flexibility, and constant evolution.

ANDY HEATHER
Andy has spent his career reimagining how we see and design streets. Starting as a CAD designer and engineer on projects like London Cycle Hire and the 2012 Olympics, he built a deep understanding of how streets work.
His passion for visualisation led him to specialise in CGI, immersive experiences, and interactive apps for transport and street design. As the lead developer of BetaStreets, Andy combines his technical skills and creative vision to build powerful, easy-to-use tools that put visual storytelling at the heart of street design.
Through his studio, RocketHaus, Andy continues to create high-end CGI, fly-throughs, and VR experiences that support design teams, local authorities, and communities across the UK and beyond.

The BetaStreets team joined our friends from transport consultancy PJA to involve the local community in the development of design ideas for an area based traffic management scheme in Royal Tunbridge Wells.

In the lead-up to the 2022 local elections, cycling charity the London Cycling Campaign commissioned BetaStreets to build a purpose-built version of the BetaStreets Pro platform.

Solihull’s Traffic and Transport team are using BetaStreets Pro to take street design from concept to implementation with greater speed and collaboration.
