We were delighted to team up with street design, transport and public health expert Lucy Saunders to deliver two special sessions for Healthy Streets practitioners in the UK and Australia.
BetaStreets x Healthy Streets sessions focused on a street in Southwark in south London. Attendees were introduced to the Healthy Streets criteria and assessment tool and shown how changes to the street over recent years had improved conditions for people and the impact that has on the current Healthy Street score.
BetaStreets images were used to visualise these changes and showcase further changes proposed by the local council.
Over 150? Healthy Streets practitioners took part in the two events. You can watch a recording of one of the sessions here: Healthy Streets x BetaStreets
BetaStreets and AI
The adoption of AI is a subject most industries are facing and street design and wider highways and public realm sectors are no different.
This of course includes both the public and private sector, and brings with it opportunities for advancements, efficiencies and savings but also concerns, issues and risks.
We were delighted to be asked by North-west Young Planners to discuss the adoption of AI in BetaStreets software and how we consider the wider ethical, moral and environmental issues associated with AI and its widespread adoption and use.
